This bookkeeper role is a member of the Finance team and will contribute cross-functionally to perform tasks in accounts receivables, accounts payables, and collections month-to-month. This important role reports to the Staff Accountant in Finance and works closely with other team members in the office and with people located in different regions across the country.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience at a minimum, as well as a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using QuickBooks software as well as knowledge of payroll and reporting systems like ADP.

Responsibilities

  • Enter payables into QuickBooks
  • Prepare reports for payroll
  • Enter transaction and order data into QuickBooks
  • Perform remote deposits
  • Generate financial reports

Qualifications

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to keep records and files organized
  • A strong time manager with respect for deadlines
  • 1 – 2 years proven bookkeeping experience
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
  • Experience with payroll processing software like ADP
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently without daily oversight
  • Excellent written English communication and typing ability
  • Minimum education of a High School diploma
  • Stout communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with high energy and excellent personality
  • Proven phone skills (to place calls to clients and vendors when necessary)

Bonus Points for

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll, accounting transactions, and payroll returns.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
